There are many opportunities to snag discounted or free beer.
The Top Hat Lounge in downtown Missoula hosts “Raising the Dead” for fans of the Grateful Dead to watch a live recording of their favorite band and play trivia while enjoying a cold KettleHouse brew for $2.75. Even if you are not a Deadhead, it is $2.75 for a good beer.
There are $8 growler refills at Tamarack every Wednesday and Friday with a Bloody Mary bar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the weekends. Basically, it’s a buffet to personally assemble a Bloody Mary.
The Tamarack brew pub picks a monthly winner on Instagram; participants must tag photos of the coolest place they drank a Tamarack brew with #tamarackbrewing for the chance to win a four pack of freshly brewed Hat Trick Hop IPA or Yard Sale Amber Ale.
Some restaurants have “buy one get one free” specials. Bridge Pizza’s happy hour offers a free 10 oz. KettleHouse beer for one slice of pizza, 16 oz. for two slices from 3 to 5 p.m.
James Bar has specials Monday through Thursday. Wednesdays are $10 for a burger and beer combo night, get a bison burger and a Cold Smoke for $10.
For minors or non-alcoholic drinkers, Bernice’s Bakery’s happy hour includes a free 8 oz. beverage when you buy a slice of cake from 6 to 8 p.m.
